What is Commonview?
Commonview is a simple, intuitive, and sustainable platform designed to help create and manage Long Term Maintenance Plans (LTMPs) and reserve funds. By offering greater accuracy, control, and forecasting, Commonview gives users the confidence that comes with shared visibility, transparency, and accountability.
Who Created Commonview?
Commonview was developed by Axis12, a New Zealand run technology company comprised of architects, accountants, developers, and designers. United by a vision to simplify and improve building maintenance planning, the team brought together cross-disciplinary expertise to build a better solution for Body Corporate.
Why Was Commonview Created?
New Zealand is seeing a significant shift towards high-density living. In fact, for only the second time on record, more building consents have been issued for high-density homes than standalone houses (Westpac, May 2021).
In response to this trend, the Unit Titles Amendment Act 2022 introduced stricter requirements for Body Corporate Committees, placing greater responsibility—and liability—on them to plan effectively for long-term maintenance.
Commonview was created to meet this need: a centralised, user-friendly platform that enables Body Corporates to manage a building’s long-term health with confidence. It delivers full transparency to all stakeholders, encouraging collaboration and improving trust, accuracy, and satisfaction. With Commonview, Committees can work closely with building professionals and their wider communities to develop sustainable, affordable maintenance strategies.
